This or That

November 19th, 2008

After I had completed my middle school, I had to make a choice between two groups that were on offer for my higher secondary education – biology and computer science. Before that in middle school, I has fared exceedingly well in both biology as well as computer science. I always have a love for fields like biology, environmental science etc. So going by my interests I must have opted for biology straight away. Most of my friends were poor at drawing so bio was naturally out of question. But unlike them, I was very good at diagrams. So that cannot be a reason for opting out. Though I was interested in the field, I wasn’t inclined in becoming a doctor or pursuing a career fully in it. That is the reason I chose the field of computer science.

Drawing - Lost my touch

October 10th, 2008

I was very interested in activities like drawing, painting, craft work etc during my childhood, when I was in school. I learnt drawing and painting from my school teacher, who did to wonderfully well to have kindled an interest within me for the art. It was after observing her that I grew an interest for drawing. I started to draw simple and small pictures that I had at my disposal. My initial ‘works’ were the usual baby dolls, colored jugs and jars, houses along a mountain valley at sunset and all other such stuff. Then my teacher took me to the next level. She taught me styles like finger drawing, leaf impressions etc. I like them all. But now I have lost the touch for drawing.

Boil Boil..

October 6th, 2008

For the last three days I have been deeply troubled by a boil in my neck region. It started as a small bulge to the left of my esophagus. It then grew considerably with each day and right now it has grown up to the size of a peanut! It is causing me extreme pain and I am unable to move my neck towards the left. The boil is yet to open up. It now causes irritation too. I have a little difficulty swallowing food, during which I experience only a slight pain though. This really seems to be more dangerous than I had thought and so I must consult the doctor now. With a dose of injection and a couple of pills it must hopefully subside. It is really a strange and awkward part of your body to get a huge boil.

Language matters.

October 2nd, 2008

Every one of us must have learnt what is called ‘professional’ English in school. This subject includes a deep study of all components of English language and people are excessively told about the rules and applications of English grammar, its correct usage, common mistakes etc. Nobody could have missed out the topic called ‘idioms and phrases’ as it adds that much more fun and liveliness into the English language. I could not forget those days where we students at class were undergoing exercises like fill in the blanks, for ex, “as —— as a lamb”. We were expected to fill the dash with the word ‘timid’. It now sounds funny but that is how we were made familiar with it. Similar procedure was followed for phrases too. Idioms and phrases add more flexibility and juice to the English language that makes our sentences more vivid and appealing to read.

A long pause..

September 30th, 2008

Hi guys, I am very happy today and thank god for giving me this day. Know what, I met my friend whom I miss a lot these days, we were very close friends when in school days. But due to some unavoidable reasons our homes got relocated and I lost his contacts from then. Then 6 years after I saw him today near my place, it was quite easy for me to identify him since his appearance doesn’t changed a lot and but for him its not like that, I have put on lot of weight and I was very plump and I made him to recognize me by playing some old game which we used to play together. Then he was too happy to see me after such a long years and we discussed a lot about our families and the happening of these 6 years. Then I get him to my huge and shown him to my parents. They too were very delighted to see him after long time. Then I introduced him to my wife and children to him and he had lunch in my home and he gave his address and asked me to come to his home this weekend with all of them from my family.

Zidane… My favorite…..

September 26th, 2008

Football is now considered to be the best ever game to be played by man in the planet till now. And Zinedine Zidane is the player whom many consider as the greatest man to have ever played the game. For those of you, who have not heard about him till now, let me tell you. Zidane played for the French national team for several years. As long as he was there, Zidane was obviously the most dangerous threat to his opponents, both directly and indirectly.
Zidane also played for several clubs, the last being Real Madrid, a Spanish giant. Zidane is considered to be the best in skills and played the role of a ‘play maker’ to absolute perfection. I have watched him in action in lot of games and I truly admire his game play. His has the highest percentage of accurate passes. He is also very good in taking down free kicks. It is sad that we can’t see his game anymore.

NOOOOOOOON Sleeeeeeep…….

September 23rd, 2008

Right from my school days I have the habit of sleeping in the noon when ever I am at home at that time. There is no specific reason to it. If I go out or if there is any important activity to do then it is ok. Or else I just lay myself in the bed and sleep. In fact these days I have more time to spend at home and this means more time to sleep. Last noon too after having a heavy meal I had no specific work to do. Having lunch automatically pushes me into a state of sleep. So I went to my bed and just lay there, replying to the few sms that my friends had sent. And then, without knowledge, I had slept. This sleep was longer than usual. I usually sleep only for 2 hours in the noon. But this time I slept for four hours from 1 to 4 pm.

Get-Together.. Makes us Together……

September 16th, 2008

Get-togethers with friends and family are occasions that do not happen every day. They are some of the memorable moments that one can witness. We friends at school have realized that and when ever possible we try to have a get together. Till now, after joining college we had 4 get-togethers, with almost our entire class at school participating in it. It was a pleasant experience. Now again, we are planning to have a reunion for this year though nothing is yet to be finalized. However, this time around we will not have so many who will participate as many have already left for their Post Graduate or jobs. So let us see how this plan materializes.

September 10….

September 10th, 2008

This day, September 10, is truly a memorable one for me. It was on September 10, 2004 that I had my first day in college, entering in with the “what the future holds for me?” feeling that every one of you must have gone through. College life is surely something we all start missing once we are out of it. I feel that the time spent with our friends during those years in college is irreplaceable. The unlimited fun and amusement that those years gave me can never come back. My career as an engineer has definitely been influenced by my activity here these years. It was at college that I grew my academic credentials. Also it provided me the opportunity to engage myself into new realms and explore more opportunities, an attitude that is very much in need in today’s world. By the time I had completed my first year at college, I had developed a circle of close friends. From then on, the diameter of the circle has been on the increase. I understood the true meaning of friendship here. Friendship in school was as enjoyable as in college, but as lads in school, seldom do situations of sorrows or desperation arise, so as to bear testimony to your friendship and bring out the true nature of your friend. It was in college that my mind began to enter a state of virtual expansion, pouring in thoughts about which I had dreamt never before. I grew an interest for several fields and sciences (though I have never specialized to become an expert in one). I have been interested in sports right from my childhood and it got a boost here at college. I trained myself in athletics and football, which I have been playing all these years. I continue with my passion for quizzing too. So to sum it up it was my college life that made me what I am today, a successful engineer with loads of ambition, but yet to achieve anything in this world. It is a day to remember for me in my life. The nostalgia and frozen memories will keep propping up to sooth me whenever I am down with a negative feeling. The thought of those priceless days brings fresh energy and rejuvenates me into carrying on my activities for the day. But still I ponder over my wish – to get back to those days, reverse spinning the time frame on a time machine!!!

Sitting Idle.

September 5th, 2008

For quite a while now, I have been idle at home, without much of the variation in activities with which I have been characterized all these years. Having gone through my bachelors and secured a job, I am now waiting for my firm to call me for work, which of course will happen soon. But till then I am happy to eat and sleep (just kidding)!! I am happy to spend more time blogging. But then I have noticed that having spent more hours at home, I have grown a large appetite now. My food intake has increased dramatically due to an obvious increased in hunger. I have always been a thin fellow so I don’t think this should me trouble. Once I join work, I don’t think I can find time to dedicate separately to my intake.
